After 8 weeks of welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors onboard SEE MONSTER, the time has come for the monster to close its doors. But that's not the end of SEE MONSTER…

What's Next

The structure will enter its dismantlement stage and return to its decommissioning cycle. This will be ongoing until January 2023 and will be led by the incredible engineers that bought it to Weston.

You can continue to follow SEE MONSTER’s journey via our social media channels; follow @seemonsteruk on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.

You may not be able to go on board SEE MONSTER any longer, but there are still lots of ways to continue to enjoy it.

Further details of our Learning Resources for young people can be found below, but people of all ages can experience the monster through the Virtual Tour, and the Audio Tour, as well as Weathering Together, an immersive audio piece by artist Joseff Harris, featuring the voices of Weston.

As for the structure itself, parts of the beast such as the Solar Tree and WindNest will be donated to local projects, and the Garden Lab’s trees and plants will be reused by North Somerset Council in their parks and public spaces, while the steelwork that makes up the bones of the beast will be recycled within the UK.

Learning Resources

SEE MONSTER has welcomed thousands of young people through its doors as part of its Learning Programme, and a variety of free STEAM resources continue to be available here.

You’ll find motivational career talks from local business people and SEE MONSTER collaborators. Plus resources from the Land Art Generator Initiative that inspire young minds to design their own clean energy-generating artwork.

You’ll also find informative discussions on resourcing the green economy from the Natural History Museum Takeover.

360 Virtual Experience

If you didn’t make it to SEE MONSTER in person, or if you want to re-live your SEE MONSTER experience, you can still discover the monster by accessing our 360 Virtual Tour.

Revisit the calming views of the Helideck, meander through the foliage of the Garden Lab or hear the roar of SEE MONSTER’s waterfall. Experience the beast during the day, or in the evening, and learn more from the collaborators and partners who bought it to life.

So, click here to board the beast, and experience SEE MONSTER for yourself.
